Metal Band Seeks Bassist

Does anyone know a bassist potentially interested in joining a heavy metal band in the Bristol area?

Blame Culture, the band for which I play guitar, are about to lose our (extremely talented) bassist owing to him moving across the country. After a lot of work we've just got to a point where we're actually getting paid gigs, writing our own material, looking to record some tracks, etc and we're very keen to recruit a new bassist a.s.a.p. and start gigging again.

In this instance "band" means curmudgeonly 30-somethings in a rehearsal room being nostalgic about Maiden. We've all got jobs, mortgages, etc and have no delusions about rock stardom (any more) but we are still keen to put a bit of effort into it; play well and gig semi-regularly.

Whilst our setlist has varied over time, currently it includes material by the likes of Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne and Living Color. None of it's going to require an absolute maestro on bass, but equally we're not really looking for a beginner either. Ability to work from a recording rather than tab/transcript is pretty essential and some degree of song-writing ability certainly wouldn't hurt either.

Currently we rehearse every Wedndesday at Access To Music near Bristol. It's slightly out of town so having transport would definately be advantageous.

If you are such a bassist please post a reply and potentially we can arrange to meet for a rehearsal. Equally, if you know anyone who might be interested please pass this on. Thanks.

See also Matt's LJ entry on the same subject.
